The Manitoulin Island Archipelago is a collection of islands in Lake Huron that includes Cockburn Island and Manitoulin Island. The area is and always has been a priority for conservation for its undeveloped Great Lakes shorelines, globally rare alvars, meadow marshes and abundance of wildlife including globally rare and at-risk plants.
